News from around town…
From Furrows and Faith Villa
The Villa would like to thank all the volunteers who came out recently to help cut down trees and haul them away. Also, the Villa mailbox is being decorated for Easter. The residents have loved all the cards they have received, and we would like to encourage the community to continue dropping them off.

From The Community Hall
The community Hall Committee has been hard at work upgrading the Community Hall and has already completed the installation of all-new lighting and ceiling tiles upstairs. The floor is prepped and ready for the installation of new commercial-grade vinyl plank flooring.
We are in the process of finally installing running water in the bar upstairs and will be replacing the north door.
Thank you all for helping with the fundraising efforts over the past year. Because of you, all renovations were able to be paid for out of fundraised Community Hall dollars!
Our most recent fundraiser of ready-to-bake pies raised over $400. We also couldn’t make any of this possible without our volunteers. Thank you for all working so hard to get the job done. We see you and appreciate you taking time out of your own busy lives to help our community improve its facilities.
We cannot wait until the work is all completed, and of course to have our first function in there! Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date on everything hall-related.
Mayor’s Musings – Spring 2021
Since becoming mayor in November, I’ve witnessed a roller coaster of emotions in our community. Different views and convictions have led to some challenging times. Thank you so much to all who go above and beyond and show respect to those around them. My hope is in times like these will draw us closer together.
Once again, I’m amazed at our volunteers who quietly go about their day-to-day while serving our community in so many ways.
Projects planned for 2021:
- Finish the Main St. Revitalization project
- Finish the Community Hall interior renovations
- Install underground sprinklers on the A’s ball diamond
- Continue to plan and promote the
- Centennial Drive expansion
With spring arriving, it will mark the end of an era. Rick Rollie will be retiring after 30 years. Rick’s commitment and dedication were second to none. Thank you so very much Rick for looking after us all these years. All the best in your retirement.
